Post print services supplier COMAG Forward is continuing its long-standing relationship with strapping specialist Mosca Direct (http://en-uk.mosca.com) with the installation of four Mosca ROMFUSION automatic strapping machines at its distribution hub in Coventry. The latest additions bring to 12 the number of Mosca models at the company.
The new ROMFUSION machines are being used for the application of strap to magazine stacks and cardboard boxes. The machines’ fast, cost-effective and reliable operation is due to a number of advanced and user-friendly features. These include thermostatically controlled heat-weld sealing; wear-free DC drive; brushless motor technology; strap end detection with ejection of remaining strap; easy strap coil change and threading system; toggle switch for super soft strapping of individual or very soft packages; controlled strap track system; adjustable strap tension via potentiometer; and energy-saving drives. Using 5mm strap, the machines can achieve up to 55 cycles per minute, depending on pack size.
In addition to the strapping machines, COMAG Forward also uses Mosca strap across all its equipment.
“We have used Mosca for well over a decade now and the quality of machinery and service is outstanding,” comments Production Administrator Richard Neale “We have numerous machines that run reliably and trouble free day-in and day-out for over 16 hours a day. On the rare occasions there have been technical issues with a machine, Mosca’s service department reacts quickly and efficiently, sending out an engineer the next day, so downtime is never an issue.”
Established in 1987, COMAG Forward operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week from its purpose-built, 85,000 square foot, state-of-the-art facility, providing production and finishing support for a for a variety of publishers and globally-recognised publications. As the UK economy made its way of the recent recession, the company noticed increased demand for its services which led to the requirement for more strapping machines.
“We needed three supplier quotes for the capex application, but we knew all along we wanted the Mosca machines,” explains Richard Neale. “We didn’t really consider anything else. We like working with Mosca, we know the Mosca machines work, so why go elsewhere. If you are after quality, reliability and wonderful customer service then Mosca is the way to go.”
